Rail union suspends strike action

Train
Union members are being consulted on the new pay offer

Members of the train drivers union Aslef have suspended plans to stage a series of strikes at East Midlands Trains in a row over pay.

Nearly 400 union members voted to walk out on six dates in July.

The union said the decision to put the stoppage on hold was to allow its members to consider a revised offer from the rail company.

Recently drivers have refused to work voluntary shifts on Sundays as part of the pay dispute.
