Workmen look on as shop collapses

Two workmen watched as a shop in Greater Manchester collapsed unexpectedly, causing a gas pipe to snap and forcing a number of nearby residents to temporarily leave their homes.

The building, on Halliwell Road in Bolton, fell down on Tuesday evening. Police are investigating the cause of the collapse.
