Farm barn fire spreads to offices

Offices in buildings on a farm in Cambridgeshire have been damaged by a fire which spread from a burning barn.

About 50 firefighters, including crews from Essex, are at Grange Farm near Royston, trying to prevent the flames from spreading further.

Two factory units and a house are under threat, a Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said.

Clouds of smoke can be seen for miles around but are not likely to be carried by the wind to nearby homes, she said.

The spokeswoman said: "But if the wind direction changes residents are advised to close windows and doors."
