The sister of a murder victim has appealed for the public's help in recapturing his killer.

Glennis Crombie's brother Andrew Neeson and his best friend Andrew Clarke were stabbed to death by Nicolas Cole in a nightclub in Coventry in 1995.

Cole, 32, Terry Lowe, 24, and Thomas Maloney, 33, are on the run after absconding from HMP Hewell open prison near Redditch, Worcestershire.

Ms Crombie said she had learned Cole had since been spotted in Coventry.

She said she was surprised that Cole had escaped, especially so given that he has only seven months left until he is due for parole. He was convicted of murder and manslaughter in 1997.

Border authorities alerted

Ms Crombie said she had learned of Cole's escape from a friend before being officially notified by the Probation Service.

She added: "He robbed two very young people of their future. They were the best of friends and they had everything to live for."

Lowe is also a convicted murderer while Maloney is a convicted drug dealer.

They fled the open prison on 7 June.

West Mercia Police has alerted border authorities in case any of the men try to flee the country.

Anyone with information should contact the force.

Lowe, from Plumstead, London, was convicted in 2001 and given a 10-year tariff for the murder of a man in Plumstead in November 2000.

Maloney, from Coventry, was serving eight years for conspiracy and possession of cocaine with intent to supply. He was convicted in November 2006.
