Grant to repair historic churches

Several historic South West churches have been given a share of a 2.5m heritage grant to allow them to carry out urgent repairs.

The money from English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund is being given to 11 churches in Devon and Cornwall, six in Somerset and two in Gloucestershire.

The selected buildings are all grade I and II listed.

They have been selected because of their historical and architectural importance, a spokesman said.
