Birmingham City FC managing director Karren Brady has been rearrested as part of an inquiry into conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.

The 39-year-old answered bail earlier and was questioned by City of London Police officers, BBC Home Affairs Correspondent Danny Shaw said.

She was arrested on suspicion of a new offence and later released on bail.

Ms Brady was previously arrested in April 2008 along with the club's co-owner David Sullivan.

City of London Police said those arrests were over allegations of false accounting and conspiracy to defraud and were part of an "ongoing investigation into football corruption".

Mr Sullivan was not required to answer bail on Tuesday.

In a statement, the police force said six people were on bail as part of the inquiry.
