Police in West Yorkshire are using Bluetooth mobile phone technology to warn women of the increased dangers of sex attacks over the festive period.
Revellers arriving at bus and train stations in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and Huddersfield will receive a video warning message on their phones.
It urges women in particular to be on their guard if they have been drinking.
West Yorkshire Police said: "During the festive period sexual assaults against women tend to increase significantly."
'Know your limits'
Insp Jon Morgan, the force's alcohol awareness co-ordinator, said: "We want people to have a great time on their night out and to remember it for all the right reasons.
"Laptop computers will be positioned at key locations across West Yorkshire on traditionally busy nights between Christmas and the new year.
"These will the send via Bluetooth the short video clip to the mobile phones of revellers as they arrive for an enjoyable night out.
"The advice we are giving to out to women in particular is simple - know your limits, stick to your group of friends and avoid unlicensed taxis when heading home."
Police patrols will be stepped up to provide reassurance and advice leaflets will be handed out on the streets.
