Overheated TV fire destroys house

A fire started by a television which overheated has severely damaged a home in Potterspury near Northampton.

Fire engines from Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire were called to the blaze at the semi-detached house in Blackwell End, in the early hours.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire fire service said the home was not fitted with smoke alarms and the fire had caused severe damage.

Three fire engines from Buckinghamshire and one from Northamptonshire attended.
