Man dies as car crashes into post

A 22-year-old driver has died in a crash in Suffolk and two 19-year-old passengers in his car were injured.

The crash happened early on Friday afternoon on Corton Road in Lowestoft when a Peugeot 306 hit a bollard, left the road and crashed into a post.

Craig Hewitt from Carlton Colville was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two teenagers from Lowestoft were taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, Norfolk and discharged after treatment to minor injuries.

Suffolk police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
