Works bring rail service changes

Rail passengers are being warned that Grand Central services to London will depart early on Sunday due to engineering works.

The firm's 1342 GMT service will now leave Sunderland at 1315 GMT. A replacement bus service will be in operation until Hartlepool.

The 1842 GMT service will depart the city at 1821 GMT, with a Northern Rail train connecting to Hartlepool.

A spokesman said the changes would also be in effect on the following Sunday.

From Hartlepool all services will continue to call at Eaglescliffe, Northallerton, Thirsk, York and London Kings Cross.
