Sorting office closure protests

Postal workers, business leaders and local politicians marched through the centre of Crewe as part of a campaign to keep the town's sorting office open.

Work from the mail centre in Weston is being transferred to a new regional centre in Warrington.

Royal Mail has said it wants staff to transfer to the new centre but unions have said many workers could not afford to travel or relocate.

It said it could lead to the loss of 600 jobs in Crewe.
