Sex allegations suspect remanded

A 55-year-old man from Hertfordshire has been remanded in custody charged with sexual offences, including rape and sexual assault.

David Kirton, 55, of Kimbolton Crescent in Hertfordshire, was arrested by Essex Police officers.

A force spokeswoman said the charges followed an allegation by a teenager from the Harlow area of Essex.

Mr Kirton appeared before magistrates in Harlow and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 21 October.
