Stabbed 16-year-old in hospital

A teenager is in hospital after being stabbed near an east London theatre.

The 16-year-old, who has not been named, was stabbed near Broadway Theatre in Barking, at about 2140 BST on Wednesday.

He was taken to an east London hospital where his condition is described as stable. A man has been arrested.

Twenty-seven teenagers have died violent deaths in London this year, exceeding the total of 26 for the whole of 2007.
