Cliff rescue equipment is being put to the test by coastguards in Kent.
Dover coastguard spokesman Andy Roberts said about 25 officers were being trained to use new "state-of-the-art" kit on Saturday and Sunday.
He said: "After the weekend we will be withdrawing all the old equipment and introducing the new."
Cliff rescue teams from around the Kent and East Sussex coast, from Sheerness to Eastbourne, were involved in the training exercise this weekend.
The training exercise was being carried out at Cliftonville in East Kent.
