Guilty plea over kidnap and rape

A man has admitted the abduction and rape of a 21-year-old woman in Suffolk.

Robert English, 58, of Fiddlewood Road, Norwich, pleaded guilty to kidnap, false imprisonment, two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.

The woman was taken from the car park of a Tesco store in Brandon on 14 June and English pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday.

English asked to be sentenced straight away but the judge ruled this would take place on 3 October.

A huge police inquiry followed the attack and officers handed out more that 500 personal alarms.
