Man in court over rape charges

A man has appeared in court accused of abducting and raping a 21-year-old woman in Suffolk.

Robert English, 58, of Fiddlewood Road, Norwich, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court charged with kidnap, false imprisonment and two counts of rape.

It follows an alleged incident in the car park of the Tesco store in London Road, Brandon, on 14 June.

Mr English, who has not yet entered a plea, was remanded in custody to appear before the court again on 12 September.
