Man arrested over rabbit thefts

A man has been arrested after 129 rabbits were stolen from a farm in Lincolnshire.

Damage costing up to £70,000 to rectify was also caused during the burglary at Highgate Farm, Normanby by Spital, in January 2008.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Worthing, West Sussex, after a joint operation between Lincolnshire, Kent and Sussex Police.

He is being questioned by detectives in Sussex.

Police said more than 20 officers searched the Friend animal sanctuary at East Peckham, near Paddock Wood, Kent, as part of the operation.
