Man arrested in burned body case

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in London on suspicion of murder over the discovery of a woman's body "on fire" in a layby in Cambridgeshire.

The body of a 23-year-old woman from Islington, London, was found on the A1301 at Hinxton, early on Wednesday.

A lorry driver noticed flames and found the victim who had been placed in a suitcase which was then set alight.

The investigation has been taken over by the Metropolitan Police after a man went to a police station in London.

The woman has not yet been named but was reported missing last Saturday.

A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as a stab wound to the chest, the spokesman said.
