Sandhurst struck by vomiting bug

Up to 100 cadets at Sandhurst have been confined to barracks after an outbreak of the Norovirus vomiting bug.

The recruits have complained of nausea and diarrhoea at the historic Royal Military Academy on the Berkshire and Surrey border.

The virus was now under control with no further cases having been reported, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said.

None of the affected recruits currently recovering in isolation was due on exercise duties outside the academy.

The MoD said the illness was not having any impact on day-to-day operations at the officers' training college, which has 800 cadets.
