Handcuffed prisoner is recaptured

A handcuffed prisoner who escaped while being treated in hospital has been found at an address in Sunderland.

Scott King, 27, fled officers at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead on Friday after being detained at Washington police station.

He had been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and Northumbria Police said he was not dangerous.

Officers focused their search on Sunderland after a sighting and he was recaptured on Saturday night.
