Coastguard warns sailors in South

Coastguards in the South are warning sailors taking advantage of the fine weather to carry out safety checks before heading out to sea.

Temperatures are expected to top 26C with many people heading to the beaches for the first time this year.

With an offshore easterly wind, rescuers also warned about children using lilos.

A Solent Coastguard said: "We recommend lilos are watched or even tethered to stop them drifting out to sea."
