Police name murder inquiry victim

A 31-year-old man who suffered serious head injuries during an attack and died in a Norfolk hospital later the same day has been named by police.

Bradley Baker, from Leiston in Suffolk, was attacked in Paradise Alley, King's Lynn, early on Tuesday morning.

He died in the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, King's Lynn.

A 24-year-old local man continues to be questioned on suspicion of murder after detectives obtained a warrant to detain him for a further period.

A 26-year-old local man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Witness appeal

Three men, aged 26, 28 and 49, arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault have now been released without charge.

A post-mortem examination by a Home Office pathologist is due to take place on Thursday morning, police said.

Norfolk Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact officers.

Det Ch Insp Neil Firm said: "What was initially an assault inquiry has turned into a murder investigation.

"We know the victim spent some of the evening prior to the assault in Chicago Rock Cafe and then visited a takeaway."
