Pubs and clubs ban footballer, 19

A professional footballer has been banned from 68 pubs and clubs in four towns near where he lives in Suffolk.

Chris Martin, 19, started five games for Norwich City FC last season and was a substitute in five more.

Mr Martin has been barred from premises in Beccles, Halesworth, Bungay and Southwold under the PubWatch scheme.

A Norwich City spokesman said the club was investigating his conduct following the pub ban and a statement would be released when that was concluded.

PubWatch is run by landlords to clamp down on anti-social behaviour and is supported by Suffolk Police.

If a person is barred from one pub they are automatically banned from all premises in the scheme.
