Elderly woman hurt in house fire
An elderly woman was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation following a fire at a farm in East Sussex.

Two crews from Uckfield Fire Station were called to the blaze on the ground floor of the house in Nutley, which started at 2146 GMT on Friday.

A spokesman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the woman was treated by paramedics. The property was badly damaged by smoke.

A house in Guildford, Surrey, has also been badly damaged by fire.

Eight crews from across the county attended the blaze in Chantry View Road in the early hours of Saturday.

There were no reports of injuries or anyone trapped in the building, but the roof of the house collapsed.

Three fire appliances remained on the scene into the afternoon.
