New aid made for asthma sufferers
Inhaler
Delivering the right dose of medicine boosts relief
Asthma sufferers could soon be hitting the right note and breathing more easily when getting relief.

An inventor from Whickhambrook on the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk border has come up with a device that makes a sound as an inhaler releases the right dose.

Canday Medical's device rings out a B flat note when the right amount of medicine is dispensed.

Jon Bell, director and inventor, said the device will help asthma sufferers learn to get the best possible relief.

'Inhaler technique'

"The problem is the medicine that does all the work to make people better does not get to the parts of the lung it should," he said.

"A lot of the medicine gets lost along the way and this is really just down to inhaler technique. Some people get it wrong.

"We've invented a device that teaches people how to breathe in at the right speed.

"This is a really complicated area and we need simple tools to help people to get it right."
