Driver dies in collision with van
A 36-year-old man died when his car crossed into the wrong lane and hit a van in Northumberland, police said.

The motorist was travelling north on the A68 near Otterburn, when his Nissan Micra crossed into the southbound lane for reasons yet to be established.

The car then collided with a Maxus van driven by a 46-year-old Newcastle man who suffered minor leg injuries.

The victim, who has not yet been named was from Sunderland. The accident happened near the Elishaw junction.

The accident happened on Sunday and police are appealing for witnesses.
