A man has been arrested after a student suffered a broken neck during a night out in a Southampton nightclub.
The 21-year-old man was injured during an incident inside Kaos nightclub, St Mary's Road, in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.
The victim was celebrating a friend's birthday and had been wearing a punk costume. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
Detectives are appealing for clubbers or any other potential witnesses to come forward.
