A woman who was found strangled at her flat in south London was murdered, police have revealed.

The body of Kellie Telesford, 40, was found at her home by police officers in Leander Road, Thornton Heath, last Wednesday night.

Detectives initially treated the death as suspicious.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who had contact with the victim, who was formerly known as Kayiode Dexter Telesford, between 15 and 21 November.

"There are several lines of enquiry that we are following but help from the community is still paramount," said Det Ch Insp Cliff Lyons.

"I would also like to reassure all parts of the community affected by Kellie's murder that our dedicated team of detectives are committed to finding the person responsible."
