Man charged over doctor's killing

Dr Anyetei's 19-year-old son found her with stab wounds
A student has appeared in court charged with stabbing a doctor to death in her car on the driveway of her Kent home.

David Quartey, 21, of Humber Road, Dartford, is accused of murdering Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, who worked at St Thomas's Hospital in London.

The consultant paediatrician was found by her son outside her home in Teynham Road, Dartford, on 14 August.

Mr Quartey was remanded in custody until 12 October by magistrates in Sittingbourne on Saturday.

He is then due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court

The student was arrested by Kent Police on Wednesday and charged on Friday night with Dr Anyetei's murder.

Dr Anyetei, who was divorced, moved to England from Ghana in 1996, and had worked as a doctor for about 20 years.
