A man has been charged with murdering a woman whose body was found in woodland in Hertfordshire after she went missing following a date.

Karl Joseph Taylor, 27, a football coach from central London, is accused of killing Kate Beagley, who disappeared last Wednesday.

Miss Beagley, 32, of Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, was last seen in the Twickenham area of west London.

Her body, found in Oxhey on Monday, has not yet been formally identified.

Mr Taylor is due to appear before Staines Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, following the discovery of the body at Oxhey Woods, near Watford.

Formal identification of Miss Beagley will take place on Tuesday, after a post-mortem examination is carried out at the West Hertfordshire Hospital in Hemel Hempstead.

Miss Beagley, of Nelson Close, was reported missing last Thursday by her father after she did not turn up for work and missed appointments.

Police believe she had visited the Chiswick and Richmond areas of west London the previous night.

Appeals to find her were put up on the social networking website Facebook by worried friends.

Miss Beagley had worked for British Gas for 10 years.
