Policeman jailed over child sex
An ex-policeman who filmed himself performing a sex act on the internet for a teenage girl has been jailed for 30 months.

James Hunter, 49, of Colenso Street, Hartlepool, served with North Yorkshire Police when he made the film and molested the 14-year-old in Darlington.

He earlier pleaded guilty to causing a child to look at a sex act and sexual activity with a child.

Hunter also admitted 15 charges of making indecent photographs and videos.

'Evil and deviant'

Teesside Crown Court heard that the married father of two, met the 14-year-old on an internet chat room and then went on to later molest her in his car.

When police raided his home they found he had been storing child sex photos and videos.

Sentencing him to two years and six months in prison Judge George Moorhouse said: "You are an evil and deviant man who was anxious to take advantage of this young girl.

"Your behaviour towards this girl will have an effect on her for many years to come and the fact that you were a serving police officer is a serious matter."

Hunter was also placed on the sex offenders register for life.
