Work to expand university starts
Work has started on a new £15m faculty building for Anglia Ruskin University - which is based in Essex and Cambs.

The new premises at the university's Rivermead campus in Chelmsford will provide classrooms, specialist teaching spaces and a 150 seat lecture theatre.

They will provide facilities for the university's departments of built environment; design and technology; computing; and its School of Law.

The building will also be a home for the Office of Student Affairs.

Anglia Ruskin University's Vice Chancellor Professor Michael Thorne said: "What we will have is another magnificent facility to add to the burgeoning campus that everyone now knows as Rivermead."

Work on the 60 week construction phase of the project, which started this week, will be completed by May 2008.

Anglia Ruskin University is based in Cambridge and Chelmsford.
