Tamar voucher scheme is extended
Tamar Bridge
The Tamar Bridge carries about 50,000 vehicles a day
Drivers who regularly use the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry will be able to buy vouchers for a few more months.

The decision has been taken because of a very high demand for a new electronic tag system.

The £4m TamarTag scheme is replacing the 15-year-old voucher system, which was due to stop at the end of February.

But because of an application backlog, the discount vouchers will be on sale until 31 May. They will be accepted until at least the end of June.

The TamarTags are attached to vehicle windscreens and automatically register when a driver uses either crossing. A pre-paid account will then be debited.
