Cash boost for disabled football
A £65,000 funding boost has been announced to open up more opportunities for disabled footballers.

The cash has been awarded to Durham County Football Association from the Football Foundation.

Organisers said it would support the work of football associations in the north-east of England and help them develop opportunities.

The Football Foundation congratulated the groups for their dedication in securing the award.

Chief executive Paul Thorogood said: "Football builds confidence in individuals and it is important that everyone can benefit from the game, regardless of their ability or background."
