Strike threat ends at tyre plants
Workers at two tyre plants have agreed a pay deal with employers bringing an end to threats of strike action.

Union members at Pirelli Tyres in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and Carlisle in Cumbria agreed to the deal in a ballot.

Transport and General Workers' Union members had voted for strike action after an initial 2.2% pay offer.

But action was called off after an improved offer of 3% this year and 3-3.5% next year was accepted.
