Charge over carriage driver death
A female motorist has been charged in connection with the death of the driver of a horse-drawn carriage.

Terrance Wood, of Leeholme in County Durham, was killed when his four-wheel trap was hit on the A689 in April.

The impact caused him to crash into a trap being driven by his 14-year-old son, who suffered serious injuries.

A 25-year-old Stockton woman has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and will appear before Bishop Auckland magistrates on 26 September.
