Train stabbing man due in court
The train at Oxenholme station
The train was travelling from Glasgow to Paignton in Devon
A 21-year-old man is due to appear in court charged with the murder of a student on a train in Cumbria.

Thomas Grant, 19, from Gloucester, was stabbed to death on a Virgin train as it travelled from Glasgow to Paignton on Saturday.

The man was arrested a short distance from Oxenholme Station in Cumbria.

British Transport Police said he comes from Skelmersdale in West Lancashire but have not released his name. He will appear in court in Kendal on Monday.

It is believed Mr Grant became involved in an argument with another passenger sitting in the carriage.

He was stabbed in the chest and died at the scene.
