A 26-year-old woman is being treated in hospital for stab wounds after what police describe as a "large fight" outside a pub early on Saturday.
The woman from Ilford was injured near the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, Essex.
She was taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Kent where she is said to be in a serious condition.
Police investigating the attack are appealing for information about a dark coloured car seen speeding off towards London after the incident at 0300 BST.
