Filming was set to begin in Cumbria on Tuesday on one of the most high-profile movies ever to feature the county.
The film, Miss Potter, tells the life story of the author of children's classics such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit and The Tale of Mrs Tiggywinkle.
Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger plays the role of Beatrix Potter in the film, also starring Ewan McGregor.
The independent movie, partly shot on the Isle of Man, will feature live action and high-end animation.
Beatrix Potter was born in Kensington, London, in 1866. She grew up in a wealthy Victorian family and had a conventional childhood for a girl of her class and era.
She moved to the Lake District in 1913 and lived at Hill Top Farm in the village of Sawrey, where she wrote most of her books.

North West Vision, the film and media development agency for the region said it was good news for Cumbria.
The company's chief executive, Alice Morrison, said: "The shoot of Miss Potter is excellent news for Cumbria.
"The Cumbria film office was established with the aim of raising the region's profile as a filming location and to generate jobs and increase inward investment, and this is exactly what is being achieved with Miss Potter.
"I look forward to seeing Cumbria in all its stunning beauty on the big screen."
