Talks over tyre workers strike
Talks are to take place between unions and bosses at Pirelli Tyres in an attempt to avoid a planned strike.

Transport and General Workers' Union (T&G) members at two plants have voted to strike on 25 August in a dispute over a 2.2% pay offer from the firm.

They have also planned a continuous overtime ban from that date at the plants in Carlisle, Cumbria, and Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire.

The talks will be held between the two parties later this week.
