Woman rescued from icy lake
A woman had to be rescued by firefighters after falling through the ice on a frozen lake in County Durham.

It happened at Bishop Middleham near Sedgefield on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the lake, after initial reports that a child was in difficulty but it turned out to be a woman who was pulled out.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics then taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, suffering from hypothermia.
