National debt helpline launches
People in Yorkshire and Gloucestershire will be the first to have access to a new national helpline for those with debt problems from Monday.

The Debt Advice Helpline has been created by leading advice agencies and will offer free help for people struggling to pay their debts.

If successful, the service will be rolled out to the rest of England and Wales towards the end of 2006.

The new helpline number is 0800 980 2800.
