Child neglect case woman in court

Kelly Ann Rogerson has been charged with child neglect

A County Durham woman, accused of leaving her children with a teenage babysitter while she went on holiday, has appeared in court in Darlington.

Kelly Ann Rogerson, 24, who is charged with three counts of child neglect, appeared before magistrates in the town on Tuesday.

She is accused of leaving two girls and a boy while she went to Turkey.

The case against Miss Rogerson, who is also known as Kelly Ann Piggford, was adjourned by magistrates for one week.

Miss Rogerson, from Darlington, was arrested by police when she flew home.

Officers were waiting to talk to her when her plane landed at Durham Tees Valley Airport from Turkey in June.
