Expert to tackle community decay
An international regeneration expert is meeting leaders from across the North East to help communities.

Lewis Feldstein will describe how some areas of the US have reversed a thirty year decline in civic involvement.

The event is being held to launch new research that shows the value of community interaction in regeneration.

It has been organised by One NorthEast, Regeneration Exchange and the North East Funders Forum, and is being held on 11 July.

One NorthEast Economic Inclusion Manager, Robin Beveridge, who will also be speaking at the event, said: "Essentially it's about bringing people together to make things better.

"It's all about helping people to build a meaningful social network, which can only help community regeneration, speeding up the process and making it more effective."

The event takes place at the Glebe Centre in Murton, County Durham.
