Two horse rescue organisations in the eastern counties are merging, creating the largest equine charity in Britain.
The Ada Cole Rescue Stables at Broadley Common in Essex is joining forces with Norfolk's Redwings Horse Sanctuary.
Together they will provide more than 90 years of experience in the care of horses with a total of 170 staff caring for almost 1,800 animals.
The merger will have a combined income of £7m, making it the largest charity of its kind in the country.
