East Midlands remembering VE Day
Events are being held in the East Mids to mark the 60th anniversary of VE Day.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, based in Lincolnshire is performing at more than 20 events across the country.

School pupils in West Bridgford, Notts, are performing a play based on survivor accounts of a bombing near Trent Bridge in 1941 in which 100 people died.

Events are being held in Leics and Derbys with a remembrance service being held simultaneously in Derby and in its twin town of Osnabruck, Germany.

The play called Bridge of Fire is being staged at County Hall on Sunday evening.

Play performer, Lottie Back, aged 10 said: "I really respect them for being really brave.

"If I was like them I'd probably cry a lot but they just stood through it and they were really brave."
