Two toll levels for Broads boats
Boards scene
Broads cruisers get a lower toll increase than private craft
Boating on the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads is to be more expensive next year but the bulk of increased costs are to be borne by private owners.

The Broads Authority has confirmed its new tolls for use of the waterways.

The authority has decided to have two levels of increase - 13% for owners of private boats and 9% for hire fleets.

John Packham, chief executive of the Broads Authority, said the decision to introduce the increases had been made deliberately.

"Hire companies need some help because many are feeling the pinch in the holiday market and as far as I know they are happy with the increase," he said.
