Crash kills woman, injures sister
Two sisters were hit by two cars in a road crash which killed one of them, police have revealed.

Alison Phillips, 43, from New Romney in Kent, died in the accident on the A259 at Guldeford in East Sussex.

Her sister, 35 and from Lydd, Kent, was badly hurt. They were hit by a BMW and thrown in front of a Volkswagen Golf.

The VW was being driven by a 25-year-old woman from Chatham, Kent, and the BMW by a 30-year-old man from Camber, East Sussex.

Police said they had to close the A259 for five hours on Saturday night while an investigation was conducted.
