More than 100 tins of unopened sweets were found at the bus depot
Jars of sweets which are thought to be at least 45 years old have been discovered at a bus station in Kent.

Staff working at Folkestone bus depot found more than 100 tins, jars, and cartons of unopened sweets, all priced in pounds, shillings and pence.

It is believed to be stock left behind by a former shop at the bus station, including familiar brands plus those from a bygone age.

The confectionery has been given to a museum in Sussex for public display.

'Well preserved'

Stagecoach staff said they were surprised by the amount of confectionary discovered in perfect condition.

"We were astonished that so much of the stock was still complete with contents inside," said manager Sam Wigley.

"It was also well preserved considering the sweets were well past their sell by dates."

The find included household names like Quality Street, Cadbury's Roses and Marshmallows as well as older makes like Dulcet Pastille Fruits, Pascal Fruit Bon Bons, and Jelly Fish.

The sweets can be seen at Yesterday's World in Battle.
