Work to restore Darlington's South Park to its former Victorian glory has entered its second phase.
The £3.9m project, which has received Heritage Lottery funding, includes the installation of a new sensory garden with water feature.
There will also be an education centre and new public toilets.
As part of the restorative justice initiative programme in the north east, it is hoped that prisoners will be able to produce items for the park.
The bandstand, built in 1892, has been returned to its Glasgow home for restoration work and about 20 layers of paint have been removed to uncover its original colour scheme.
